Jelena Knežević, born in Novi Sad in 1977, is a literary scholar and university professor. She studied literature and obtained her PhD from Belgrade University in 2013, writing on the concept of beauty in German ballads. Since 2014, she teaches German literature of the 18th, 19th and 20th century at Montenegro University. In addition, she also teaches world literature at the Faculty of Montenegrin language and literature in Cetinje. Her translations into Serbian and Montenegrin include Mauser by Heiner Müller (2010), Die Universalbibliothek und andere Geschichten by Kurd Laßwitz (2014), and Einer by Norbert Gstrein (2017).
