In her anthology of stories, Dass ich lache, wenn ich sterbe [So I Would Laugh When I Die], Fadila Nura Haver chronicles the life of a contemporary Bosnian family. With an ironic and humorous outlook, she uses her stories to analyse the Bosnian mentality, and allows the reader to dive into various characters of everyday life, which is marked by banality and steady moral decline. It is humour, which reveals the questionability of proclaimed values and finally saves one from sinking into tragic banality.
