Saša Ilić was born in 1972 in Jagodina/Serbia. In February 2005 he was a guest of the Literary Colloquium Berlin, and half a year later his novel Berlinsko okno [Berlin Window] was published by the Belgrade publishing house, Fabrika knjiga. Ilić had already attracted attention in 2000 with his volume of prose Predosećanje građanskog rata [Premonition of Civil War]. He is Editor of the anthology Pseći vek [Canine Century] with stories of contemporary Serbian authors. Ilić is co-founder and editorial member of BETON, the literary review supplement of the independent Serbian daily newspaper Danas, which is now an established part of the alternative cultural scene of Belgrade. He lives in Belgrade.
