Anita Peti-Stantić, born in 1966 in Virovitica, studied Southern Slavic and Classical Philology in Zagreb. After post-graduate studies at Yale University and at the University of Vienna she obtained her Ph.D. on the subject of comparative syntaxes of pronouns. She initiated the “Krijesnica” edition for children’s and youth literature and since 2006 has worked as a reader for the “Electa” book series for children and young people at the Algoritam publishing company. She also runs the course for translator training in Slovenian at the Philosophical Faculty in Zagreb. Anita Peti-Stantić published the monograph Jezik naš i/ili njihov (2008) and is the author of a Slovenian-Croatian Dictionary. She translates from English and Slovenian. She has published the translations Čefuri raus! by Goran Vojnović (together with Jagna Pogačnik) and Razdvojit ću pjenu od valova by Feri Lainšček.
