Kako je nastal slovenski narod: začetki slovenskega nacionalnega gibanja v prvi polovici 19. stoletja

The book deals with the development of several Slovenian national movements, from the second half of the 18th century onward up until the middle of the 19th century. The author criticises the current view that modern nations are direct heirs of ancient communities and sheds particular light on as well as dissects the phenomenon and idea of a language as the “cradle” of a nation: Kosi goes on to show that actually there were several dialects in the so-called Slovenian lands that competed among themselves for supremacy as the written Slovenian language at the end of the 18th century and beginning of the 19th century.
