Helen Sinković, born in 1964 in Zagreb, studied German and Italian Language and Literature at the Philosophical Faculty at the University of Zagreb. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Literary Translators and works as an interpreter and translator for the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia. Her translations include works by Friedrich Dürrenmatt (Der Verdacht) (title of the English translation: Suspicion), Herta Müller (Herztier; Heute wär ich mir lieber nicht begegnet) [(titles of the English translations: The Land of Green Plums; The Appointment), Elfriede Jelinek (Die Klavierspielerin; Lust) [The Piano Player; Lust] Thomas Bernhard (Der Keller) (title of the English translation: The Cellar), Günter Grass (Beim Häuten der Zwiebel, (title of the English translation: Peeling the Onion, jointly with Boris Perić), Patrick Süskind (Über Liebe und Tod) title of the English translation: On Love and Death) and Guido Knopp (Hitlers Helfer; Hitlers Krieger) [Hitler’s Henchmen; Hitler’s Hitmen].
