Diana Dimanova, born in 1961 in Sofia, studied German language and literature, and Literature. She lives and works as an interpreter and translator in Sofia. In the period from 1989 to 1999 she translated more than ten television films for Bulgarian television. She has also worked as a literary translator since 1999. Her publications include nine translations of E. M. Remarque, four of Lion Feuchtwanger, one of Gottfried Keller, one of Jeremias Gotthelf, one of Martin Walser,  four of Hansjörg Schertenleib, two of Bernhard Wallner, one of Theresa Panova-Schaffai, and one of Marion Poschmann.
