Dejan Vasilevski was born in Skopje, North Macedonia, in 1975 . He has a bachelor’s degree in Macedonian language and literature and a master’s degree in Communication, both from the University ‘Ss Cyril and Methodius’ in Skopje. He is a translator from Serbian, Croatian, Montenegrin and Bosnian and a proofreader. Vasilevski has translated Jurica Pavičić’s ‘Ovce od gipsa’ into Macedonian as well as several other authors from the former Yugoslav republics. During his TRADUKI residence in Cetinje, Montenegro, he was working on the translation of Nikola Nikolić’s shorty story collection ‘Atacama’. As a poet and writer he has published four books and has won several accolades. His writing has also been widely published in magazines and anthologies, some of it has been translated into Serbian and Bulgarian. In addition, Vasilevski has also been working with several radio stations across North Macedonia.
