Vesna Vuković, born in Dubrovnik in 1975, studied German, Croatian and theater studies at the Philosophical Faculty in Zagreb, where she is currently completing her doctorate in the fields of literature, performing arts, film and culture. She works as a curator and researcher in the field of socially engaged art and is a member of the BLOK curator collective. From 2007-2011 she taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and from 2012-2013 at the Academy of Art in Split. She writes for a number of journals and is the editor of several publications concentrating on contemporary art. Since 2012, she has been co-author of the radio programme “Stvarnost prostora”, which is broadcast on the third programme of Croatia Radio (HR3). Since 2006, she has been regularly translating for the radio as well. Her literary translations include works by Peter-Paul Zahl, Peter Weiss, Vlado Kristl, Heine Müller, Rolf Ramader, Alexander Kluge, Georg Büchner, and Milko Valent.
