Robert Perišić
Robert Perišić, born in Split in 1969, studied Croatian Studies at the University of Zagreb and has worked as a magazine editor, journalist and literary critic. He is one of the most important and influential contemporary authors in Croatia and the former Yugoslavia. In 1995, he published the poetry collection Dvorac Amerika. His first collection of stories, Možeš pljunuti onoga tko bude pitao za nas, was published in 1999. His novel Naš čovjek na terenu (2007) was awarded the Jutarnji list newspaper’s literary prize for the best prose work of the year and the Steiermärkische Sparkasse literary prize and has been translated into numerous languages. He also received positive reviews for his 2015 book Područje bez signala, which was nominated for the prestigious Meša Selimović Prize and the T-portal Prize for the best Croatian novel.
