Luljeta Lleshanaku searches for her childhood and with it the memories of the time, when Albanian communism was at its peak. A time of secret prayers, because practicing religion was prohibited, a time of secretly read books, because the majority of European literature was prohibited by the censorship. Here – amidst mountain villages, chestnuts, and the destruction of the future, where the “Spring kills loneliness with its loneliness” – nobody feels sorry for himself, and there are neither victims nor perpetrators; at the most just a higher power, which one has to learn to deal and live with.
