Die schwindende Stadt

The powerful wings of loneliness, grief and despair are very familiar to Pavle Goranović. Equally, rare moments of happiness and fulfillment. The author knows about the nothingness of the world and the language in the face of his own death: But he also knows about the strength that can be drawn from it. His poems approach these elusive existential moments through memories of love for women, of a moment in youth, or the all-transcending, groundless joy of travel. At the same time his poems also lament the absence of true ‘moments’ in a society that is increasingly losing sight of itself.
