Der Held

2005, in a country where a civil war raged from 1990-1995: Two senior officers who once served in the same army but fought on different sides during the war are accused of war crimes, both are extradited to the International Tribunal in The Hague. There they become friends, as they have much in common: their past, their language, their age, not least the threat of punishment. The general of the victorious party is acquitted after five years in custody, the colonel of the defeated party is sentenced to many years in prison.
