A student of oriental languages travels to Turkey to research information about a secretive order for her dissertation. However friendly her welcome, and however hard she tries to observe local customs and rules of behaviour – she runs into a wall of silence. House arrest and jail arrests make her understand that reality is nothing like her fairy-tale or mystic preconceptions. She begins to perceive reality, and senses why some things have to happen in secret.
