Viktoria Dimitrova Popova, born 1981 in Sofia, emigrated to Switzerland in 1992. She studied German and comparative literature in Zurich and Vienna, worked in the independent dance and theater scene and is now living as a translator in Zurich. She is the editor of the Bulgarian series at Ink Press. For her work she has recevied several accolades: 2016 Shortlist of the Literature Prize of the National Book Center and the National Palace of Culture Sofia, 2016 Acknowledgment of the City of Zurich, 2018 Contribution of the City of Zurich, 2019 Conrad Ferdinand Meyer Prize 2019 for translation as authorship as the first translator ever and one of the few women, 2020 working grant from the Canton of Zurich.
