Verica Tričković (née Jovanović) is a poet, editor and translator. Born in 1961 in Nerav, Macedonia, she emigrated to Serbia after graduating from high school. During the NATO air raids on Serbia in 1999, she emigrated to Germany. As an author she made her debut with the poetry collections Parče neba (2001) and Lokvanj i pelen (2007), written in Serbian. Als rettete mich das Wort (2011) and Im Steinwald (2016), both published bilingually in Serbian and German, followed. She writes exclusively in German now. Her new poetry collection will be published soon. She is the translator of numerous pieces of contemporary German-language poetry for various literary journals, including ARS (Montenegro), STOŽER and FUSNOTA (North Macedonia), and POLJA (Serbia).  She sees herself as a mediator for poetry between German and Macedonian as well as Serbian.
