Stojan Gjaurov (born in 1950) is a Bulgarian journalist and translator from German, English and Italian. He studied English literature in Sofia and later worked for Deutsche Welle in Cologne and Bonn. Gjaurov has translated works by W. G. Sebald, Jan Assmann, Michael Maar, George Steiner, Mark Lilla, Eliot Weinberger, Salvatore Settis and countless others into Bulgarian. He received the award of the Association of Bulgarian Translators for his translation of W. G. Sebald’s “The Emigrants” (2018).
