Sonja Dolžan, born in Ljubljana in 1964, studied in Ljubljana at the Faculty of Arts, Department of Slavic languages, and graduated in Croatian, Serbian and Macedonian Language and Literature and Comparative Slavic Linguistics. Today she teaches Slovenian language and culture in Skopje as a teacher for Slovenians abroad. Sonja Dolžan has published numerous scientific articles and a scientific monograph. She translates from Macedonian, Croatian, Serbian, Montenegrin and Bosnian into Slovenian and vice versa. She has translated, among others, Goce Smilevski, Venko Andonovski, Olivera Nikolova, Blaže Minevski (from Macedonian to Slovenian), Vladimir Bartol, Andrej Blatnik, Renata Salecl, Tomaž Šalamun and Peter Svetina (from Slovenian to Macedonian).
