Radoslav Petković, born in 1953 in Belgrade, is one of the most well-known writers in Serbia. He has published many novels, stories and essays. His works have been translated into several languages, he himself has translated works of Chesterton, Tolkien, Defoe and Stevenson from English into Serbian. His novel Put u Dvigrad, which was published in 1979, was awarded the Miloš Crnjanski Prize in 1997. Similarly, he received several awards for the novel Sudbina i komentari (1993): the Meša Selimović Prize of the Večernje novosti magazine and the Borba Prize and the NIN Prize of the Association of Publishers and Booksellers of Serbia and Montenegro. Radoslav Petković lives as a freelance writer in Belgrade.
