Nina Nikolova

Nina Nikolova, born in 1964 in Byala Slatina, Bulgaria, is a university assistant at the Paissiy Hilendarski University in Plovdiv, where she teaches Sociology. Between 1996 and 2004 she was a co-publisher of the magazine Критика и Хуманизъм [Magazine for Critical Theory and New Humanistic Studies]. Since 1992 she is a scientific research assistant at the Institute for Critical Social Research in Sofia. Her main line of research includes public sociology, the sociology of socialist societies, and the sociology of the body. Nina Nikolova has translated several sociological and philosophical publications, including those of Niklas Luhmann, Ulrich Beck, Sigmund Freud, and Hans Blumenberg.
