Monika Helfer was born in 1947 in Au. She is a writer living in the Austrian region of Voralrbeg with her family. She is an author of many novels, books of short stories and children’s books. She wrote the book “Rosie and the Great Grandfather” together with Michael Köhlmeier in 2010. She received several awards for her works, including the Robert Musil Fellowship (1996) and the Austrian Honorary Prize for Literature (1997).
