Mateja Komel Snoj

Mateja Komel Snoj was born in Celje, Slovenia, and graduated in Comparative Literature and Literary Theory from Ljubljana University. She translates Serbian, Croatian and English literature (poetry, prose and essays) into Slovene. Among others she has translated works by Ivo Andrić, Aleksandar Gatalica, Dragan Velikić, Dragan Jovanović Danilov, Delimir Rešicki and Miljenko Jergović. In 2016, she won the “Lirikonov zlat” award at the 15th International Lirikonfest. She is also the author of a monograph on Slovene writer Lojze Kovačič, Fragmenti o prišleku (2008), and  the editor of the short story anthology V deželo luči (2016).
