Marija-Joanna Stojadinović, born in 1951 in Sliven (Bulgaria), studied at the Music Academy in Belgrade and then qualified as a theatre journalist. She has worked as a journalist since 1978, has been a correspondent of Bulgarian State Radio, of Radio Darik and other Bulgarian media, has worked for numerous magazines and took part several times in the “Sterijino pozorje” drama festival in Novi Sad. Her translations from Serbian include works of Dušan Kovačević, Vladislav Bajac, Dragan Velikić, Svetislav Basara, Jovica Aćin, Branislav Nušić, Stevan Pešić and Momo Kapor, and from Bulgarian, works of Alek Popov, Georgi Gospodinov, Valeri Petrov, Anton Starsimirov, Ivan Vazov and Ekaterina Josifova. She is a member of the Association of Literary Translators, of the Association of Technical and Scientific Translators in Serbia and of the Bulgarian Association of Journalists. She lives and works as a freelance artist in Belgrade.
