Dean Rajčić, born in 1966 in Koper, studied Economics at the University of Ljubljana. A few years after completing his study he decided to earn his living by literary translation and initially translated Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, including works by Charles de Lint and Sheri Tepper. His main focus is now on works of significant or promising writers from Italian, English and the former Serbo-Croatian speaking area. His translations include works by D`Annunzio, Pasolini, Morante, Levi, Meek, Pekić, Basara and Spahić. Dean Rajčić lives and works in Ljubljana.
