Borivoj Radaković

Borivoj Radaković, born in 1951 in Zemun, studied at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Zagreb. He worked for ten years for various literary journals and cultural newspapers. He has worked as a freelance writer and translator since 1990. He has celebrated success in his writing, particularly with his novel Sjaj epohe (1990) (title of the English translation: Splendour of the Epoch) and the stage play Dobrodošli u plavi pakao (1994). In 2000 he founded the FAK literary festival, which had already welcomed numerous writers from Croatia and its surrounding countries, as well as authors from Great Britain. Borivoj Radaković’s translations have included works by Vinka Sazdova, Sarah Waters, Hanif Kureishi, Julian Barnes, William Burroughs, Niall Griffiths, Jack Kerouac, Berry Gifford, Barry Callaghan, John Updike and Kathy Acker. He lives and works in Zagreb.
