Andreea Odoviciuc
Andreea Odoviciuc, born in Romania in 1990, has lived in Austria since 2020. She studied Translation Studies (German, English and Romanian) and Cultural Studies. In 2018, she completed her PhD on the topic of “Language and Translation in the Habsburg Bukovina”. In 2020, the publishing house new academic press in Vienna published her book Gegeneinander, Nebeneinander, Miteinander. Deutsch und Rumänisch als Rechts- und Verwaltungssprachen im habsburgischen Kronland Bukowina (1848-1918). For five years she taught translation and interpreting at the Department of German Language and Literature at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University and German as a foreign language at the University of Arts in Jassy, Romania. She has been working as a translator and interpreter since 2014. Her translations include the novels Das Geschenk (2020, Lebăda Neagră), Haarmann (2021, Lebăda Neagră) and Die Unschärfe der Welt (2022, Lebăda Neagră).
