Ana Nemec was born in Zagreb in 1981. She studied German and English. She teaches English and German at the Faculty of Printing and Graphic Design and the Academy of Music in Zagreb. Nemec has translated works by Navid Kermani and Ingo Schulze, among others, into Croatian.
