Alenka Zdešar Ćirilović, born in 1950 in Ljubljana, studied Italian at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Belgrade. She is a member of the Serbian Association of Literary Translators and translates from Slovenian and Italian. Her most important translations from Slovenian include works by Maja Novak, Petar Zobec and the sociological, philosophical and linguistic study Burek.si? Koncepti/recepti by Jernej Mlekuž. Her translations from Italian have included works by Tersilla Gatto Canu, Massimo Donà and Loretta Napoleoni.
