Blanka Stipetić was born in 1967 in Vojvodina. She studied political science and Slavic languages in Würzburg. She works as a writer, literary translator and publisher. She wrote two crime novels and several short criminal stories that were published by Rowohlt and ars vivendi. Together with Brigitte Döbert, she translated Mark Thompson’s biography of Danilo Kiš from English and the novel Sonnenschein by Daša Drndić from Croatian. In 2013, she and Dagmar Schruf founded the E-book publishing house Schruf & Stipetic, in which among other titles her translations of Jurica Pavičić’s short stories were published.
