Wenzel Groszak, an oil rig worker on a platform in the middle of the sea, loses his only friend during a stormy night. After his friend’s death, Wenzel travels to Hungary and brings back his friend’s belongings to his family. And now? Should he go back to work, to another platform? Eventually, he throws away his work clothes near the West African coast and sets off northwards via Malta and Italy to a now defunct Ruhr region, his former home. And the closer he gets to the love of his life, Milena, the bigger the question becomes if he will be ever able to find his way back.
