Josip Osti’s short story collection is also an intricate family novel, each story functioning as an important piece in the bigger jigsaw puzzle. Osti tells the story of a grandmother, who every evening waits for Jesus to come visit her in her flat, recounts the story of the mother’s prolonged stay at the hospital (which later turns out to be a prison) and enumerates the father’s visits. Most imporantly, it shows how a small boy is slowly growing up. A collection of memories that is an homage to the family.
