Sarajevo in the nineties: the city is under fire. How does a child experience the war? Swapping comics is made difficult by a hail of shells, there is a constant shortage of electricity to play computer games, and the American soldiers can only be persuaded to play basketball with one by bribing them with stolen sex magazines. So: It is often dangerous, but above all exciting and never boring. The young first-person narrator wants to stay, but his parents can’t take it anymore and hope for a new start in Germany.
