The theory of communicative action serves to clarify the foundations of a critical theory of society. The basic concept of communicative action opens up access to three thematic complexes that are intertwined with each other: the concept of communicative rationality, the two-level concept of society that links the paradigms of action and system, and the theoretical approach that explains the paradoxes of modernity.
