The story of a childhood in a destroyed world, in the middle of a sheltered family with parents, brothers and sisters, grandparents and innumerable aunts and uncles. Supposedly small episodes from everyday life – shopping, washing, slaughtering of animals, going for walks, horse-cart rides or childish rambles through the neighbourhood – bring particular sensations and memories to light.
