Kultura laži. Antipolitički eseji

Dubravka Ugrešić’s volume of essays “Kultura laži” originated in 1995 as a reaction to the collapse of Yugoslavia, the disastrous war in Croatia, and in Bosnia. The essays analyse what happened in the former Yugoslavia: aggression against their own “brothers”, artificially induced amnesia, recourse to national-fascist ideologies, propaganda and censure, folklore kitsch as the culture of falsehood, writers and intellectuals in the maelstrom of nationalism.
