In 15th-century Albania, war rages right on the doorstep. The inhabitants of a border town tempt fate: A messenger from the sultan brings a peace offering to them. But because it demands the denouncing of their religion in return, they refuse. The Ottoman army is unstoppable, and surrender appears to be only a matter of time. But this time, such a brief period when viewed in the light of history, seems endless for those, who are trapped in this battle between two worlds. Whether hero or coward, the same tragic fate awaits either one.
