This publication brings together several volumes of poetry and short stories by Faruk Šehić, who is considered one of the most important contemporary Bosnian authors and enjoys cult status in his home country. As an officer in the Bosnian army, Šehić himself took part in the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s and is considered a representative of the so-called “lost generation”. Accordingly, the war and its aftermath play a prominent role in his work, which is characterised by precise language, highly poetic images but also a deep socio-political commitment.
