The tranquil life of landscape gardener Carlo goes off the rails. His wife has left him and his daughter is studying in London. Agon, his assistant gardener from Kosovo, a sensitive soul trapped in a massive body, gets beaten up on the street for no good reason. And then, suddenly, Carlo’s demented mother disappears. Together with Agon, he sets out to find her. In the process, he does not only rediscover nature and the people around him, but also his mother’s glamorous past at the Grand Hotel in the mountains during the Second World War.
