In the 1980s, the writer C. from Leipzig was allowed to temporarily leave East Germany with a visa. In West Germany, he fell in love with a woman, however the contradictory experiences and influences that the partners had lived through, wore down their relationship. Even though C. feels uneasy and strange in the West, sinking deeper into drinking and writing blocks, he allows his deadline for his return to elapse, thus making East Germany inaccessible for him.
