Zsuzsanna Gahse was born in 1946 in Budapest. She lives in Müllheim in the Swiss canton of Thurgau and is a writer and translator. She has translated to German works by Péter Esterházy, Péter Nádas, Zsuzsa Rakovszky, Ottó Tolnai, and István Vörös. She received numerous prizes for her works, the most important being the literature prize aspekte (1983), the Adelbert von Chamisso prize (2006) and the Johann Heinrich Voß translation prize (2010).
