Žarko Paić is a Croatian writer, philosopher, sociologist, critic, essayist and theoretic of the contemporary art and architecture. He was born in 1958 in Kutina and studied political sciences at the University of Zagreb. He finished his Master’s study in philosophy and obtained his doctorate in Sociology in 2005. He is a member of the Association for support of philosophy, the Croatian Writers’ Association, and the Croatian PEN Centre. He works as a lecturer of cultural sociology, aesthetics, semiotics and visual communications at the Faculty of Textile Technology of the University of Zagreb. Žarko Paić writes philosophical and sociological texts, texts on the theory of contemporary art, on cultural policies and development of culture as well as literary essays and critiques that are published in Croatia and abroad.
