Wolfgang Schivelbusch

Wolfgang Schivelbusch, publicist and historian, was born in 1941 in Berlin. He studied Literature, Sociology and Philosophy in Frankfurt on the Main. He has been living and working in Berlin and New York as a freelance author since 1973. Wolfgang Schivelbusch is especially known for his ‘history of mentalities’ method. He received the Heinrich Mann Prize for Essays from the Academy of the Arts in Berlin in 2003.
