Volker Weidermann

Volker Weidermann, born in Darmstadt in 1969, studied political science and German literature in Heidelberg and Berlin. He works in the cultural department of Der Spiegel as a literary editor. His book Summer Before the Dark: Stefan Zweig and Joseph Roth, Ostend 1936 (published in 2014) tells of the friendship between Joseph Roth and Stefan Zweig and their time in exile. It has been translated into more than ten languages. Weidermann lives in Berlin.
