Vladimir Zarev

Vladimir Zarev, born in Sofia in 1947, is one of the most important contemporary Bulgarian prose writers. His novels have met with great interest in Bulgaria and later also in Germany, Turkey and Ukraine. He became particularly well known with his novel Разруха, which was first published in 2003 and went through nine editions in Bulgaria. Vladimir Zarev teaches Bulgarian literature at Sofia University and is editor of the renowned Bulgarian literary magazine Съвременник.
