Vladimir Babić, born in 1982 in Ruma, studied German Language and Literature in Belgrade. As grant holder of the Austrian Exchange Service (ÖAD) he studied German Philology and Translation Science for one semester in Vienna and as grant holder of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) he studied German Language and Literature for one semester in Osnabrück. In 2005 his short story Glad, won a writers’ competition held by the publishing companies Alma and Beografiti; the story was then published in Vrata moje priče. Vladimir Babić works as a translator and court interpreter. His translations have included several short stories from Russendisko [Russian Disco] by Vladimir Kaminer and Geschichte der Männlichkeit in Europa (1450-2000) [The History of Masculinity in Europe (1450 – 2000) by Wolfgang Schmale.
