Vasile Poenaru

Vasile V. Poenaru, born in 1969, is an Austrian-Romanian German philologist, writer and translator; not a stranger in Vienna, Linz, Bucharest, Salzburg; numerous publications in Literatur und Kritik (Salzburg), Die Gazette (Munich), Aurora-Magazin (Salzburg), Lichtwolf (Norden), Torso (Munich), Wienzeile-Magazin (Vienna), Schreibkraft (Graz) etc; mehrjährige lecturer at the University of Toronto (Translatology, German Literature and German as a foreign language) and editor and columnist for Canadian newspapers; honoured e.g. by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC); lives in Toronto.
