Sylviane Dupuis was born in Geneva in 1956. She is a poet, playwright and essayist. From 2004 to 2018, she was a lecturer at the Département de français moderne at the University of Geneva, teaching the literature of French-speaking Switzerland. She is also a co-founder of the Maison Rousseau et Littérature (MRL) in Geneva. She was awarded the Prix Ramuz de Poésie in 1986 for her poetry collection Creuser la nuit. Sylviane Dupuis lives in Geneva.
