Reinhard Kaiser-Mühlecker was born in Kirchdorf an der Krems in 1982 and grew up in Eberstalzell, Upper Austria. He studied in Vienna and runs a farm. His debut novel Der lange Gang über die Stationen was published in 2008. The novel Fremde Seele, dunkler Wald was shortlisted for the German Book Prize in 2016. The novel Enteignung was published in 2019. Reinhard Kaiser-Mühlecker has received several accolades for his work. In spring 2022, Reinhard Kaiser-Mühlecker’s novel Wilderer was published. It was nominated for the German Book Prize and the Austrian Book Prize and won the Bavarian Book Prize 2022.
