Radka Dimitrova-Purwin, born in 1954 in Lovec, went to a German-language grammar school in her home town and moved to Sofia to study German studies specializing in interpretation and translation at the university there. She has been living in Berlin since 1981 and works on a freelance basis as a sworn interpreter and translator. She translated two novels by the Swiss writer Markus Werner to Bulgarian, Am Hang (published in Bulgaria 2011) and Zündels Abgang (published in Bulgaria in 2014).
