Peter Stamm

Peter Stamm was born in 1963 in Scherzingen in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. He studied English studies, psychology and psychopathology for several semesters. After long stays in Paris, New York and Scandinavia, he lives now in Winterthur. Since 1990, he has been a freelance writer and journalist. Peter Stamm wrote more than dozen radio plays. His first novel Agnes was published in 1998. Since then, he wrote four more novels, four books of short stories, and a volume of plays. He received several awards for his work.
